DESCRIPTION:Free BBQ lunch is a highlight of the 2020 ARCA Fall Swapmeet. Indoor tables for sellers are free on a first-come\, first-served basis. Additional tailgate space and ample parking will be available. Hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with lunch starting at 11 a.m. Location is the former REACT building at 4145 Mack Lane in Augusta. There will be a $1 per ticket raffle for a variety of Amateur Radio items. Anyone with something to donate for the raffle should email information to arca.w4dv@lgmail.com. A silent auction will be conducted for the club’s Mosley Model 33 tri-band Yagi antenna with a starting bid of $100 and minimum $20 incremental bids. This is a on cash and carry basis. DESCRIPTION:As part of the HAM101 educational outreach program with Savannah River Academy\, the Amateur Radio Club of Columbia County will be hosting Special Event Station W4Y from September 23-25\, 2021. Look up W4Y on QRZcom for additional details. On Friday\, we will be at the school from 8:30 AM until noon\, with HF and VHF stations\, to allow the students to make contacts . We are seeking volunteers to assist as station coaches\, as well as to monitor the 146.985 repeater and talk to students during the event. DESCRIPTION:The Best Dam Ride is a fun\, casual bicycle ride for cyclists of all ages and experience levels. Hundreds of riders gather at J. Strom Thurmond Dam at Clarks Hill Lake to enjoy a group bicycle ride that circles the lake\, covering three counties and looping through both Georgia and South Carolina. For road cyclists\, there are 29\, 62\, and 100 mile options making the ride fun for all intensity levels. For those who prefer mountain biking\, there are also 5\, 16\, and 36 mile options on the historic Bartram Trail\, sponsored by SORBA-CSRA.
